Inspired in Italy
With travel restrictions easing this Summer, Janey was able to combine business and pleasure for an inspiring trip to the Lombardy region of Northern Italy.
With the dramatic scenery and natural beauty of the region, dominated by the foothills of the Alps and Lake Como, there was no shortage of inspiration. The perimeter of the lake studded with charming villages and towns full of Renaissance architecture, offering further creative thoughts for future projects.
Staying lakeside and taking a boat trip on Lake Como offered an incredible, immersive experience in the landscape and a closer look at the architecture. This included beautiful homes once owned or visited by the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon, Churchill, Mussolini and of course George and Amal Clooney.
Away from the lake, Janey ventured into the beautiful hills to stay in their gorgeous rural hideaway. The lavender, wild flowers and of course sunflowers, were in full bloom here. This incredible combination of the flowers, the fig and olive trees starting to bear fruit and the special light of mid-summer, is always enjoyed and certainly inspires creativity.
It is here, in the hills, an artist friend of Janey also resides and is working on some exciting new pieces in his studio. These pieces will be showcased in Janey Butler Collections.
