Beautiful Gardens for Springtime by Janey Butler

We’ve never been more grateful to see the sunshine as Spring bursts into bloom. The beautiful weather enables us to extend our living space outdoors, allowing us more time to spend in our gorgeous gardens.

Breath-taking interiors deserve equally stunning exteriors; which is why our expert teams of Landscape Designers work hand-in-hand with both our Architects and Interior Designers to create thoughtful and sustainable gardens for our award-winning projects. Here, Design Director Janey Butler guides us through a handful of her favourites…

The Countryside Getaway - Ash Tree House

Set in the rolling Welsh countryside, this stunning new build property due for completion this year, features beautifully landscaped gardens to match the picturesque surroundings.

The once boggy, overgrown plot had not been touched for decades, and years of neglect meant the ground was totally unusable. Implementing a large drainage scheme, the team opened up the over-grown hedges and beautiful existing oak trees. In total, we planted over 1000 hornbeam hedge trees; adding further native hedging and wild roses, honeysuckles, hawthorns, field maples and beech trees as well as thousands of naturalising spring flowers framed by hand-built dry-stone walls.

The garden and grounds are now filled with wildlife and are a haven for bees and butterflies.

Indoor/Outdoor Living at Forest Cottage

At Forest Cottage in Alderley Edge, the newly built contemporary extensions featuring Sky-Frame are set within stunning grounds. The concept of indoor/outdoor living sat at the heart of the entire design scheme, and uninterrupted views of the grounds and surrounding countryside was of key importance to our clients.

Wild woodland is contrasted by perfectly manicured infinity lawns, creating the perfect balance of old meets new; mirroring the architectural design of the home beautifully.

Old Meets New at Queen Anne House with Sky-Frame

This Grade II* listed home was transformed both inside and out, with the addition of an incredible Sky-Frame extension and Janey Butler Interiors throughout.

The subtle elegance of the interior of the home is matched by the equally breath-taking exterior; Llama’s Landscape Architects completely redesigned the gardens; which now feature a cut stone patio area, new lawns, herbaceous beds, pleached trees and outside lighting; carefully illuminating the ancient ruin which was once a tannery in the 16th century.

The newly created infinity lawn had cottage style borders which are a haven for wildlife and give a beautiful view from inside the main home or in the newly created oak gym building.
